Can the Mobile ID be installed on multiple devices?

You can use your WildCard Mobile ID card on up to two devices (one iPhone and one Apple Watch) that are signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID.

If I have a passcode on my iPhone, will I need to enter it each time I access the Mobile ID?

Express Mode is a default setting that allows you to double tap the side button (without using a passcode/Face ID) to view the cards in your Apple Wallet. In Express Mode, your Mobile ID will not be displayed with other cards in your Apple Wallet for security reasons. However, you can still “tap” the Mobile ID on the reader without unlocking your iPhone. If you are already using Express Mode, you do not need to do anything.

If you have disabled Express Mode on your iPhone, you will have to authenticate each time you access your phone. This is a user security preference.

Why can’t I double-tap the home button or side button when iPhone is locked to see my WildCard ID balances in Apple Pay?

Express Mode (iPhone 6S or later) is enabled on your device by default, allowing you to double-tap your phone’s side button (without using a passcode/Face ID) to view the cards in your Apple Wallet.
