WildCard Mobile ID
The University of Kentucky is pleased to offer the WildCard Mobile ID, bringing added convenience, enhanced security and seamless access right to your mobile device.
Students and employees can now use their iPhone, Apple Watch or Android smartphone to enter residence halls, attend university events and make purchases at most locations that accept the WildCard ID across UK’s Lexington campus.
With your WildCard now securely stored on your mobile device, there’s no need to carry a physical card. Simply tap your phone or Apple Watch at any WildCard reader to enjoy fast, contactless and secure access wherever you go on campus.
The WildCard Mobile ID cannot be used on both iOS and Android devices at the same time. The Mobile ID is not supported on wearable Android devices at this time.
NEW AND TRANSFER STUDENTS LIVING ON CAMPUS:
Install your WildCard Mobile ID on your device before arriving on campus. It is your key to your residence hall, individual suite and dining plan on move-in day, and the ID may require up to 24 hours to activate.
UK EMPLOYEES:
To allow your department to cover the cost of the Mobile ID, we will need a completed Employee Mobile ID Application filled out by your department. This will need to be delivered to our office or emailed to IDOffice@uky.edu.

Pay Mobile ID Activation Fee
The Mobile ID costs $20 for both students and employees and is valid for four years, with the expiration date aligned to the end of the fiscal year. After the four-year validity period, users must pay a $5 annual renewal fee to keep their Mobile ID active.
If the "Add to Phone" or "Add to Wallet" buttons do not appear, this means payment is still needed.

How do I use the Mobile ID?
You will use the Mobile ID the same as you would any plastic debit or credit card. Simply tap the reader with your device.
Where can the Mobile ID be used?
The WildCard Mobile ID can be used to access residence halls, meal plans, libraries and recreation facilities.

What are the device requirements for using the Mobile ID?
You cannot use the WildCard Mobile ID on both iOS and Android devices at the same time. WildCard Mobile ID on wearable Android devices is not supported at this time.
Android
WildCard Mobile ID credentials are supported on any NFC-enabled Android phone running Lolipop 5.0 or higher (most phones sold in the past five years).
Apple
- iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus or later running the latest version of iOS

Do I have to upload a photo to use the Mobile ID?
Yes, an approved photo is required for activation. Instructions and photography guidelines can be found here.
My device is not showing the "Add to Phone" or "Add to Wallet" buttons. What does this mean?
If the "Add to Phone" or "Add to Wallet" buttons do not appear, this means you still need to pay the activation fee. You can submit your online payment here. If you are not certain if you have paid the activation fee, please contact the UK WildCard ID Office for assistance at 859-257-1378.
